Linux is a UNIX operating system which runs - besides
others - on a normal PC.
Linux is fairly wellknown today and provides many
possibilities which you might know from other operating
systems like Windows 95/98/NT.
There is quite an amount of information about Linux. Here I want
to show you some entrypoints
If you are familiar with Linux you certainly know the
programs i frequently use:
- Gimp - a Photoshop clone
- StarOffice - a free Office package a la Microsoft Office
- Blender - A very good free 3D modeller, which
has been used in some TV productions.
And the best about all these programs is that you don't have
to pay a single penny for it!
