One of the few areas in science where
there are many unresolved problems to be researched is
artificial intelligence.
Where as many main stream problems in physics, biology
etc. are fairly well solved, there are quite some basic
problems in artificial intelligence which are matter of
current research.
AI deals with the modelling of systems which acts
intelligently in a certain environment. And here is the first
question: What is intelligence actually?
There are 4 different views of intelligence:
- Act like a human beeing.
- Think like a human beeing.
- Think rational.
- Act rational.
The first view is the most difficult way to implement and the
last one is the easiest.
Artificial intelligence is a field which overlaps with many
other sciences like psychology, philosophy and biology.
